It was ranked in the top 19 on both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs in 2015. That same year she debuted her first album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked at the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also among the first five songs. Based on an interview she did with Rap Up, this particular song held a lot in the minds of many people who listened to her story about finding acceptance and appreciation for yourself. Cara's tracks often contain positive message about mental wellness and how important it is to love yourself. She has been struggling with anxiety and insomnia that has influenced her music. According to Reuters' interview, she's described her album as half-tumultuous however, it is half finished. The growth of her career was helped through therapy. She advises other people, if needed, to reach out for assistance. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian descent. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10, and it brought her to music. At the age of 13, she started covering songs she loved on YouTube to demonstrate to the public that she was talented and had the courage to pursue a career as an artist. Sweater Weather is one of those covers that led to her being discovered at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create new songs of her own.
